The WOMEN of Today

The saying goes, "all men are created equal," but the issue is that not all men are treated equally. It is our job to level the playing field.
Women of the now are paving the way for women of the future just as women of the past have done for us. In 1920 women, *white women were granted the right to vote. In 1943 that right was available to Chinese immigrants. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 protected voting for racial minorities from discriminatory election systems, and now a century later, from when it all began, we have the first female in the white house. She's also the first African American and Asian American to hold this post.
We are homemakers. We are breadwinners. We are making history in male-dominated fields. It can be intimidating as hell, but as long as we keep walking into that room, we are working toward equality. We are empowered. We are raising the next generation. We are raising strong women AND men to work together truly. We are worthy. We are deserving. We are the women of today.
